Survey of endocrine disruptors in toys and articles for children

58 samples of toys and other articles for children were analysed for phthalates, bisphenols, alkylphenols and –etoxilates, and/or chlorinated parafins.

Some of the substances were detected in few samples, but in most of the samples analysed, none of the substances were found. The most noticeable finding was significant amounts of bisphenol A in many of the samples of soft polymer analysed.
