National fishing fee

Anyone aged 18 or over who intends to fish salmon, sea trout or Arctic char in rivers and lakes must pay the national fishing fee. You must always carry proof that you have paid the fee when fishing and produce it on request. The fee is paid into a government fund that is used to maintain salmon, sea trout and Arctic char stocks and thus ensure opportunities for angling for these species.
