Maximum limit values for selected hazardous organic contaminants (HOCs) in secondary raw materials used in fertilisers and soil products
Om publikasjonen
This report is a follow-up and expansion of earlier work in Norway on limit values for hazardous organic contaminants in fertilizers.
The Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research (NIBIO) has summarized basic knowledge regarding risk evaluation of contaminants in soil and discussed knowledge gaps. The following substances are discussed in the report: Diethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP), Perfluorinated octane sulfonate (PFOS), Perfluorinated octanoic carboxylic acid (PFOA), The fragrances galaxolide (HHCB), tonalide (AHTN) and OTNE, Short-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCP), Nonylphenol + nonylphenol ethoxylates (NP + NPE), Decabromo-diphenyl ether (BDE-209) and Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB7). The reports presents an updated overview of concentrations of contaminants in sewage sludge, as well as considerations on properties of the substances.
