Technical description of the revised model Project for Norwegian Environment Agency and SSB
The main objective of the project was to update the existing model for enteric fermentation developed and operated by Statistics Norway (SSB). The important step in this work was to perform a review of the methodology, activity data and emission factors and to align the new model with the outline and design of the other models used to calculate greenhouse emissions from the Norwegian agriculture (nitrogen and methane models to estimate emissions from manure management earlier updated by Carbon Limits). In addition, the key mitigation measures for reduction of methane emissions from enteric fermentation were identified, reviewed and implemented in the
updated model.
