Monitoring of microplastics in the Norwegian environment (Mikronor)

On behalf of the Norwegian Environment Agency, the Norwegian Institute for Water Research (Niva) has organized and analyzed samples for microplastics in Norwegian aquatic environments and air through the national monitoring program "Microplastics in coastal areas, rivers and lakes (Mikronor)".

The program was initiated in 2021 and aims to map microplastic levels, investigate potential sources of microplastics and form a basis for further monitoring of microplastic levels in Norway.

This is the second report in the program.
